Liberty-Benton High School Staff Member of the Month for April
Mr. Ray Wolfe grew up in Findlay, and he earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the University of Findlay. He is currently in his 6th year of teaching at Liberty-Benton High School.
Liberty-Benton High School Students of the Month for May
Senior Daniel Linhardt is active in soccer, track, Spanish Club, and art, and he is looking forward to starting a family. His favorite classes are math: Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Geometry. He enjoys running, ultimate Frisbee, and gaming with his siblings. His personal goal is to serve God in every way possible with his life. Daniel is the son of Liza and Rick Linhardt.
Liberty-Benton High School Students of the Month for April
Senior Paige Peplinski is active in cross country, basketball, National Honor Society, Habitudes, and is a STRIDES leader. She enjoys watching sports, hanging out with her friends, and playing card games. Her favorite class is physics, and she is looking forward to meeting new people in college. Her personal goal is to be successful. Paige is the daughter of Kim and Dave Peplinski.

Liberty-Benton High School Students of the Month for March
Senior Diego Flores enjoys reading, weightlifting, and watching sports, and his favorite subjects are calculus and literature. He is a member of National Honor Society, and he is looking forward to attending The Ohio State University. His personal goal is to be the best version of himself spiritually, mentally, and physically. Diego is the son of Saul and Rosalinda Flores.

Liberty-Benton High School Staff Member of the Month for March
Mrs. Julie Todd grew up in Findlay and now lives on a farm in McComb. She has been married to Jeff for 19 years, and they have three daughters who are in 2nd, 6th, and 8th grade at LB. She is in her 19th year of teaching at Liberty-Benton High School, and she earned her Bachelors in Math Education from BGSU in 2000, her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from BGSU in 2002, and her CCP certification from Ball State in 2016.

Hancock Park District names Hailey Cunningham as VIP of the Year
FINDLAY—Hailey Cunningham has been named the 2018 Charlie Meadows Award winner by the Hancock Park District. Cunningham is a Vocational Agriculture instructor and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Advisor at Liberty-Benton High School.
LBHS Students of the Month for February 2019
Senior Logan Kizer enjoys playing guitar and watching, “The Office.” His favorite classes are all math classes, and he is involved in Fermata the Blue, golf, bowling, National Honor Society, musical, and choir. He is looking forward to prom, graduation, and going to college, and his personal goal is to win the lottery. Logan is the son of Craig and Maria Kizer.

Mr. Scott Arnold is in his 15th year of teaching at Liberty-Benton High School. He grew up in Cairo, Ohio, and he earned both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. He is married to his wife, Carrie, who is also a Liberty-Benton teacher, and their children are Camden (18), Connor (12), and Cooper (7).

Camden Courtney's Art Selected for Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition
Congratulations to Liberty-Benton High School senior, Camden Courtney. Her oil painting titled, “Dessert at Boston’s” was selected for display in the Ohio Governor’s Art Exhibition. The works were judged by a panel of seven college educators and artists from the midwest. Exhibition in this show is an outstanding honor because over 11,000 high school art entries were submitted and the judges narrowed these pieces down to the very best 300.
State of the Schools Address 2019
Mr. Kowalski presented the second annual State of the Schools address on March 11, 2019, in the high school auditorium. There was a performance by Fermata the Blue Performance to start the event.
Our goal is that each Liberty-Benton graduate is equipped to reach his or her potential in: Good Character, American Citizenship, Independent Living, Academics and Critical Thinking.

Read Across America Week at LB
To help celebrate Read Across America week, the high school Rhodes State College public speaking classes worked with Liberty-Benton literacy coach, Rhonda Smith, and principal, Brenda Frankart, to arrange for high school students to read to grades K-5. Each high school student was given a Dr. Suess book to read aloud to an elementary class
I often find myself talking about how rapidly our world is changing. Technology changes just as you learn a new way of doing things, information goes viral in seconds and we are constantly adjusting how we interact with the world. Liberty-Benton Local Schools has also changed the way we approach teaching our students and providing them with an excellent educational experience.

Mrs. Jackie Makowski is in her fourth year as the high school secretary. She grew up in Tiffin, and she has been married to her husband, Brian, for 17 years. The Makowskis have 3 children: Ayden 17, Karmen 14, and Evan 11. They also have two dogs: Carl and Rudy.
According to the Ohio Department of Education, “Open enrollment allows a student to attend school tuition-free in a district other than the district where his or her parents reside.” Sure, it sounds simple enough but the way open enrollment plays out in Ohio school districts is more nuanced than that.
Liberty-Benton and Blanchard Valley Center Team Up For Great Cheering
As a fundraiser for the Special Olympics teams from the Blanchard Valley Center, the Liberty-Benton High School cheerleaders participated in cheering with the Special Olympics cheer team during the 2018 Local Celebrity Basketball Game. As a result of that one-time event, a special relationship has grown and developed between the two cheer squads.
