Liberty-Benton Hires Clinical Counselor, Prioritizes Student Mental Health Needs

During this time of uncertainty, the Liberty-Benton School District is pleased to offer our student body with a wide range of mental health support. In addition to school guidance counselors, we have recently added a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor to our team.

Tracy Rath, LPCC, will serve the entire district, and will be available year round. Her position entails one-on-one appointments, group intervention, parenting support, and working with building guidance counselors to address other mental health needs in our schools.

Rath has served on the Liberty-Benton Soccer Association Board for over ten years and her husband is currently a high school basketball coach for the district.

A Bowling Green graduate with nearly 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, 13 years as a clinical counselor and most recently an education coordinator, Rath is excited for this opportunity.  She explains, “I started at Liberty-Benton in March 2020 right before COVID invaded all our lives. I’m glad I was a part of the Liberty-Benton team at that time and was able to provide mental health support to many through this difficult time.”

Services provided by Rath do not need to be processed through insurance and they do not cost Liberty-Benton a fee. If a student is in need of long-term care, Rath can access the student and refer the student to a provider outside of the district.

“I am very excited for this coming school year and look forward to being face to face with more students as the school year moves forward,” continued Rath. “Life can be hard, and right now, especially, many can struggle with all the uncertainty, so I am honored to be a part of a school district that places priority on the mental health needs of their students.”
