The New Year is underway, and so are the plans for the new construction at Liberty-Benton Local Schools!
In partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), the district has initiated a three-year plan to complete the project. How I wish that our residents could pass the bond issue one day and then the new construction would magically appear next! That is not how the process works and we are making every effort to ensure that we continue to be good stewards of the taxpayer dollar. Now that we have firmed up our millage amount, we have progressed to the next phase of the construction project and will be selecting a construction manager and architect. Our design and construction team will be in place by the end of February.
We will continue to provide updates on the project as we move through the phases of construction and are working diligently to make sure that the project continues to move forward on time and on budget.
In addition to improving and maintaining safety, new construction will provide a dynamic learning environment for our students, supporting quality educational experiences today and well into the future.
After all, there is an evolution to education. Technology plays an important role in our classrooms and that will not change any time soon. Computers, smartboards and hand-held devices, along with increasingly vast digital tools and programs, impact both teaching and learning, offering new ways for teachers and students to engage, create, collaborate and individualize. We want to make sure our students have the best tools, programs and services available to them to succeed in school as well as after, no matter what path is chosen.
I am proud to be part of this effort in building the future of Liberty-Benton Schools, fostering an environment of academic excellence and life-long success, and I look forward to what the future has in store for our schools and our community!
