Calamity Day Procedures

From time to time during the school year, Liberty-Benton Local Schools may operate remotely, experience delays or early dismissals or make changes in school schedules and activities due to inclement weather or any other calamity situation. If a normal school schedule is affected, the Liberty-Benton Local School District will operate on either a two-hour delay or a complete school closure for the day. Bus service will still be operational if we are on a delay.

In an effort to disseminate announcements in a timely and cost-effective manner, the primary source for our notification process will be through our Instant Connect system. All parents and staff will receive notifications via text, email and phone.

We will also post the notification on our Facebook page (@LibertyBentonLocalSchools), our Twitter feed (@LBLocalSchools), and our Instagram feed (@libertybentoneagles). Our local media outlets will also be notified. Once we notify the media, there is usually a 10-15 minute delay before they process and announce the notification, so please make sure you are receiving Instant Connect notifications from the district.

In case of early release due to inclement weather, we will utilize the same notification procedures as a delay or closure. Bus service will be operational for all students who regularly utilize this service and we will follow normal drop-off procedures.
