CCP Student & Parent Presentation:  Wednesday, January 22, 2025 @ 7:00pm in Auditorium  This presentation is for students currently in grades 6-11 planning on taking College Credit Plus (CCP) courses here at LB, at Millstream, or at the college during the 2025-2026 school year.  Representatives from Rhodes State, Bowling Green, Owens, and University of Findlay will be here.  My recommendation is for students taking a CCP course for the first time to attend the meeting with their parent/guardian.  Returning CCP students may either attend the meeting or go through the PowerPoint presentation  with their parent/guardian.  The PowerPoint will be added here on January 23.   The mandated yearly CCP Intent to Participate, LBHS Mandated Counseling, and Textbook paperwork will be available at the meeting on Jan. 22 for those in attendance.  They will also be on the last slide of the PowerPoint presentation. These forms MUST be completed and returned to the counseling office by Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in order for students to take a CCP course during the 2025-2026 school year.  Please contact me with questions or concerns.

Community Foundation Scholarship:  Seniors,  The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation Universal Application opened on December 4. The universal application matches students to over 150 scholarships held at The Community Foundation through one application. Through the universal application seniors will request their high school transcript and one general letter of recommendation as well as complete a general essay. After the universal portion of the application, students may need to provide supplemental materials for individual scholarships such as additional essays or letters of recommendation depending on the scholarships they are matched with. The foundation holds a wide range of scholarships touching all areas of study after high school including trades, two and four year colleges.  All seniors are encouraged to apply.  There will be a webinar on Monday, December 9 @ 7:00pm.  Please RSVP even if you cannot login on the 9th so the presentation may be emailed to you. Webinar RSVP.   The Deadline for the Scholarship application is February 5.

Financial Aid Information:  Mrs. Herr met with seniors during LEAD on October 23 to go over basics of financial aid and how to create the FAFSA ID that is needed by both students and parents.  Having this completed prior to the November 21 FAFSA meeting is a great way to get started on the financial aid process.  LEAD Presentation

Financial Aid Meeting:  This year’s FAFSA presentation will be during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 21 @ 6:30pm.   This is a great opportunity to meet with your students' teachers then move to the Auditorium where  Melanie Weaver, Financial Aid Director at Ohio Northern University will be presenting.  This is not an ONU presentation, but how to navigate the Financial Aid process.  I highly recommend attending, especially if you own a family farm there have been many changes to the FAFSA.  After the presentation if you need more help completing your individual FAFSA, below is a link to Owens Community College help sessions.   FAFSA Workshop
