LB Participates in Coats for Christmas

A little history…..

Coats for Christmas of Hancock County originated from the vision of City Dry Cleaning owner, Paul Kramer. In 1987, Mr. Kramer developed and launched a service project to provide a warm coat to those in need, regardless of financial circumstances. Mr. Kramer conceived the idea of an organized collection of gently used coats, donating his company’s services to clean those coats and distribution of the freshly cleaned coats to those in need with out financial qualification. In 1997, the Hancock Leadership Alumni Association assumed responsibility for organizing and marketing the collection and distribution effort. Mr. Kramer continues to be actively involved in the campaign by providing his business services to clean all of the coats that are donated. The youth of ENGAGE play a very important supporting role in the service project by collecting new hats and mittens to distribute as well.

In the spirit of giving…

On Friday, November 20, decorated donation boxes will be at each school buildingĀ for coat, hats, and mitten collection. The collection time period for this year will be November 20th through December 4th. We wish each and every one of you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
