Liberty-Benton High School’s STRIDES Leadership & Service Program is Conducting March Madness

For the second straight year, the Liberty-Benton High School STRIDES program is conducting a March Madness activity with all high school students and staff. For the leadership  side of things, the 28 STRIDES groups were competing in a Winter Games tournament set up like a friendly tournament, and the champion will be named on February 24th.

For the service side of things, there are 3 weeks of service collections taking place:

Week One: Toiletries collection from February 22-26 to benefit City Mission, Chopin Hall, and Hope House. Students and staff are asked to donate shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorants.

Week Two: Dog and Cat items collection is from February 29-March 4. The Humane Society and Teddy’s Rescue are the beneficiaries for these items. Students and staff are asked to donate old blankets, paper towels, and dog and cat food and treats.

Week Three: This is Fire Relief Foundation week. Collection is from March 7-March 11. The local Fire Relief Foundation is the beneficiary of these items. Students and staff are asked to donate new socks and underwear, mixing bowls, kitchen utensils, bath or kitchen towels, and hairbrushes. They are also accepting various practical items that are beneficial to the foundation.

Community members may provide donated items at the high school office or through any Liberty-Benton High School student. Thank you!
