On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, the U.S. District Court of Toledo held a U.S. Naturalization Ceremony in Findlay in UF’s Winebrenner Center, and seniors from area high schools attended the event. Liberty-Benton High School is especially happy to congratulate senior Mark Lopez on receiving his U.S. citizenship. Mark was born in Mexico, and his family moved to the United States when he was five. Mark spoke about the obligations of citizenship during the ceremony before a packed crowd where 75 individuals from 41 different countries received their U.S. citizenship. Senior Cody Bachorik performed the National Anthem, and a group including Schelby Beach, Brynn Kinsinger, Jenny Fleck, Caisey Hardy-Fowler, Jordan Gottschalk, Asa Baird, Cody Bachorik, Maggie Rucki, and Shelby Baumlein performed “God Bless America.”
