Students of the Month for May 2018

Senior Sydney Plesec is active in volleyball, National Honor Society, and is a STRIDES leader. She enjoys volunteering at Gateway Church and Pheasants Forever. Her favorite classes are public speaking and government, and she is looking forward to graduating and going to college. Her personal goals are to graduate from college and get a job. Sydney is the daughter of Mark and Kim Plesec.

 

 

Junior Maya Trautman enjoys singing, writing, and watching movies and musicals, and her favorite subject is history. She sings in our school choir and loves participating in musicals. She is looking forward to attending college, and her personal goal is to become a high school history teacher. Maya is the daughter of Kerry and Todd Trautman.

 

 

Sophomore Michael Kotey is active in golf, basketball, track, Z-Club, and Habitudes, and he is looking forward to working at Findlay Country Club this summer and pole vaulting. He enjoys Refuge, the St. Michael’s Parish youth group, and volunteering as an altar server at St. Michael’s. His favorite classes are algebra and biology, and his personal goals are to excel in high school, study engineering, and pole vault in college. Michael is the son of Jan and John Kotey.

 

Freshman Chloe Kern is active in FCA, Z-Club, junior leadership 4-H, Spanish Club, and volleyball, and her favorite classes are history and Spanish. She enjoys working part-time at Jeffrey’s Antiques and shopping for antiques. She is looking forward to meeting tons of new people and going to college. Her personal goals are to make her parents proud and do a good job in school. Chloe is the daughter John and Melissa Kern.

Senior Austin Kanable is active in student council, and he is looking forward to starting college. He enjoys riding his bike, swimming, and spending time with friends. His favorite class is Life in the Sea, and his personal goal is to graduate with a master’s degree. Austin is the son of Rachel and Jim Kanable.

 

 

Junior Brandon Maas enjoys playing hockey through most of the Fall, Winter, and Spring, and hanging out with friends. His favorite subject is history, and he is active in football, baseball, FCA, NHS, and Spanish Club. He is looking forward to summer then hockey season, and his personal goal is to graduate with honors. Brandon is the son of Rod and Tammy Maas.

 

 

Sophomore Alissa Rhodes is active in basketball, volleyball, and choir, and she enjoys socializing and sand volleyball. Her favorite subject is English, and she is looking forward to graduation. Her personal goal is to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. Alissa is the daughter of Scott Rhodes and Missy Masterlasco.

 

 

Freshman Allison Hooper enjoys attending youth group, and her favorite classes are science and Spanish. She is active in Z-Club and soccer, and she is looking forward to getting her driver’s license. Her personal goal is to graduate from college with a 3.5 GPA or higher. Allison is the daughter of Tim and Shelley Hooper.

Senior Katie Veenstra is active in volleyball, cheerleading, softball, Habitudes, FCA, student council, and is a STRIDES leader. She enjoys attending the high school Bible study group and Gateway life groups, and her favorite class is anatomy. She is looking forward to going to college and meeting new people. Her personal goal is to become a physician assistant so that one day she can help others in need and save lives. Katie is the daughter of Tyler and Kristy Veenstra.

 

Junior Cameron Schroeder enjoys hanging out with friends and family, swimming, and playing with his dog. His favorite classes are pre-calculus and chemistry, and he is active in basketball, soccer, and Habitudes. He is looking forward to going on vacation with his family, and his personal goal is to get into The Ohio State University. Cameron is the son of Tamara and Gary Schroeder.

 

 

Sophomore Derek Puthoff is active in student council, Spanish Club, and the stage crew for the musical. He enjoys playing video games, and his favorite subjects are math and science. He is looking forward to going to Millstream next year, and his personal goal is to earn as many college credits as he can before graduating. Derek is the son of Andrew and Amy Puthoff.

 

 

Freshman Kelsey Hall enjoys playing club volleyball and helping in the nursery at church. Her favorite subjects are English and Spanish, and she is active in volleyball and choir. Senior Hannah Otley is active in volleyball, Fermata the Blue, student council, National Honor Society, and also serves as a STRIDES leader and FCA secretary. Her favorite subject is history, and she is looking forward to attending the University of Findlay to study physical therapy. Her personal goal is to glorify God in all she does. Hannah is the daughter of Bruce and Tricia Otley.

 

 

Junior Evie Stump enjoys baking, running, and shopping, and her favorite subject is history. She is active in cross country, track, student council, and Skills USA. She is looking forward to going to culinary school, and her personal goal is to open her own business. Evie is the daughter of Gene and Jodi Stump.

Senior Emma Grubinski is active in basketball, softball, student council, Habitudes, STRIDES, FCA, and National Honor Society, and she is looking forward to graduation. Her favorite classes are anatomy with Mr. McRedmond and yearbook with Mr. LaFontaine. She enjoys going to youth group, walking her dog, listening to music, and going on mission trips. Her personal goals are to graduate from college and later own a business. Emma is the daughter of Kevin and Kendra Grubinski.

 

Junior Andrew Grimm enjoys collecting sports cards, traveling, and visiting baseball stadiums. His favorite subject is history, and he is active in cross country, quiz bowl, baseball, National Honor Society, and is a STRIDES leader. He is looking forward to going to college and finding a job, and his personal goal is to start a business. Andrew is the son of Allen and Amy Grimm.

 

 

Sophomore Luke McDonald is looking forward to summer adventures, and his favorite class is biology. He is active in baseball and basketball, and he enjoys St. Michaels youth ministry Refuge, fishing, and the Marathon Engineering Explorers program. His personal goals are to go to college and obtain a master’s degree in engineering or business administration. Luke is the son of Layne and Kathy McDonald.

Senior Hunter Haws is involved in football and wrestling, and he enjoys watching movies and hanging out with friends. His favorite subjects are science and math, and he is looking forward to making money in his future. His personal goal is to be the best he can be. Hunter is the son of John and Holly Haws.

 

 

Junior Noah Aschemeier is active in NHS, Z-Club, Habitudes, varsity soccer, musical, and choir, and he enjoys fantasy football, reading, and Shark Week. His favorite classes are World History and dance, and he is looking forward to Christmas break and Avengers Infinity War. His personal goal is to improve by 1% every day. Noah is the son of Ryan and Deanna Aschemeier.

 

 

Sophomore Brian Ajala enjoys spending time with family and friends, and his favorite subjects are math and science. He is active in choir, soccer, track, and Spanish Club. He is looking forward to having a successful academic career at Liberty-Benton High School and going off to college. LBHS Students of the Month for September

Senior Tyler Gioffredo is involved in marching band, concert band, pep band, and the pit musical. He enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. Tyler’s favorite classes are government, ceramics, band, English 12, and working in the office with Mrs. Makowski and Mrs. Schimmoeller during his study hall. He is looking forward to going to college, and his personal goal are to attend BGSU and become a teacher. Tyler is the son of Jennifer and Jason Gioffredo.

 

Junior Keith Sansalone enjoys reading and playing the piano, and his favorite subject is English. He is involved in cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, and FCA, and he is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with relatives. His personal goal is to do all things to the best of his ability. Keith is the son of Keith and Lisa Sansalone.

 

 

Sophomore Jordan Roeder is involved in cheerleading, choir, Habitudes, and Spanish Club, and her favorite class is biology. She enjoys showing horses, playing piano, and teaching a miniature donkey tricks. She is looking forward to being a delegate for the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA), and her personal goal is to be an overall good person with great values. Jordan is the daughter of Jan and Phil Roeder.

 

Freshman Alexis Rickenbacher enjoys attending youth group at Gateway Church, spending time with family and friends, and playing sports, especially pole-vaulting. Her favorite classes are science, math, and dance, and she is involved in soccer, indoor and outdoor track, Z-Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Spanish Club. She is looking forward to going on a mission trip this summer to the Dominican Republic, and her personal goals are to attend a college to continue her academics (in pre-med) and pole-vaulting, and continue to grow stronger in her relationship with Christ. Alexis is the daughter of Laura and Jeff Rickenbacher.

Senior Shelby Baumlein is active in choir, Fermata the Blue acapella choir, and the musical, and her favorite class is American Sign Language.  She enjoys reading, yoga, and spending time with friends and family, and her personal goal is to make her parents proud.  Shelby is the daughter of Michael and Marie Baumlein.

 

Junior Mackenzie Murphy is active in student council, Habitudes, National Honor Society, volleyball, football and basketball cheerleading, softball, Hancock Youth Leadership, and is a STRIDES leader.  She enjoys spending time with friends and family, participating in Bible study, attending St. Michael’s youth group, and traveling.  Her favorite class is World History, and she is looking forward to an unforgettable senior year with her friends.  Her personal goal is to become the best version of herself in all areas of her life.  Mackenzie is the daughter of Bob and Melinda Murphy.

Sophomore Taylor Johannigman enjoys reading, volunteering, and being a part of Project H.A.P.P.Y.  Her favorite subject is Spanish, and she is active in marching band, concert band, orchestra for musical, Z-Club, student council, and is a STRIDES leader.  She is looking forward to attending and graduating from college, and her personal goal is to graduate from high school with a 4.0 GPA and honors.  Taylor is the daughter of Char Simons and Mark Johannigman.

 

Freshman Ayden Makowski is active in marching band, Z-Club, and is the wrestling team manager.  He enjoys playing video games, hanging out with friends, and traveling, and his favorite subjects are chemistry, anatomy, and history.  He is looking forward to getting his driver’s license, and his personal goal is to graduate with a 3.5 grade point average or above and become a cardiologist.  Ayden is the son of Jackie and Brian Makowski.

Senior Hanna Brown enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching boys’ basketball games.  Her favorite subjects are English with Mrs. Teders and math with Mr. Rader.  She is looking forward to graduating from high school and attending college in the Fall, and her personal goals are to be successful in college and make her parents proud.  Hanna is the daughter of Nicole Troiano and Jeremy Brown.

 

 

Junior Erin Lay is active in track, cross country, musical, Fermata the Blue, National Honor Society, Hancock Youth Leadership, youth band, and is a choir officer.  She enjoys cooking, baking, and reading, and her favorite class is Millstream’s culinary arts.  She is looking forward to the state competition for Skills USA, and her personal goal is to get a varsity letter for track.  Erin is the daughter of Mark and Una Lay.
