Staff Member of the Month for May

Mrs. Amy Teders is currently in her 11th year of teaching at Liberty-Benton and her 16th year overall. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from Bowling Green State University, a Master’s Degree in Education from Heidelberg, and a Master’s Degree in English from Ohio University.

Mrs. Teders is from Bowling Green, Ohio, and she has been married to her husband, Randy, for 15 years. They have twins, Luke and Isaac, in 7th grade at LB, and Madi, in 3rd grade at LB.

Mrs. Teders enjoys interacting with and getting to know her students. She also enjoys intertwining technology with teaching English.

She is looking forward to finishing her master’s degree this summer and enjoying summer vacation. She enjoys reading, shopping, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Senior Sydney Plesec is active in volleyball, National Honor Society, and is a STRIDES leader. She enjoys volunteering at Gateway Church and Pheasants Forever. Her favorite classes are public speaking and government, and she is looking forward to graduating and going to college. Her personal goals are to graduate from college and get a job. Sydney is the daughter of Mark and Kim Plesec.

 

 

Junior Maya Trautman enjoys singing, writing, and watching movies and musicals, and her favorite subject is history. She sings in our school choir and loves participating in musicals. She is looking forward to attending college, and her personal goal is to become a high school history teacher. Maya is the daughter of Kerry and Todd Trautman.

 

 

Sophomore Michael Kotey is active in golf, basketball, track, Z-Club, and Habitudes, and he is looking forward to working at Findlay Country Club this summer and pole vaulting. He enjoys Refuge, the St. Michael’s Parish youth group, and volunteering as an altar server at St. Michael’s. His favorite classes are algebra and biology, and his personal goals are to excel in high school, study engineering, and pole vault in college. Michael is the son of Jan and John Kotey.

 

Freshman Chloe Kern is active in FCA, Z-Club, junior leadership 4-H, Spanish Club, and volleyball, and her favorite classes are history and Spanish. She enjoys working part-time at Jeffrey’s Antiques and shopping for antiques. She is looking forward to meeting tons of new people and going to college. Her personal goals are to make her parents proud and do a good job in school. Chloe is the daughter John and Melissa Kern.

LBHS Students of the Month for May

Senior Olivia Stuck is active in varsity soccer and National Honor Society.  She enjoys reading and crafting, and her favorite subject is history.  She is looking forward to attending college next year, and her personal goal is to always keep improving herself.  Olivia is the daughter of Jean and Jim Stuck.

 

 

Junior Abigail Heldman has been active in track and field, Welcome Crew, Spanish Club, and has been a student aide.  She enjoys playing piano, creating sheet music, drawing, and working on a novel.  Her favorite classes are all of them!  She is looking forward to attending college and seeing the world outside of Findlay.  Her personal goals are to have a good paying job, become a philanthropist, and write popular, best-selling books.  Abigail is the daughter of James and Stacy Heldman.

 

Sophomore Sophie Johnson is active in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track, and her favorite subject is definitely science.  She enjoys St. Michael’s youth group, doing projects, traveling to new destinations, biking, hiking, and camping.  She is looking forward to traveling out of the country, and her personal goal is to help people with medical needs.  Sophie is the daughter of Tom and Janet Johnson.

 

Freshman Reanna Baxter is active in volleyball, outdoor track, and serves as the accompanist for advanced choir.  She enjoys playing piano, raising rabbits, being outdoors,and vacationing in the Rocky Mountains.  Her favorite subjects are art, choir, and science, and she is looking forward to moving to Montana.  Her personal goal is to attend The Ohio State University to become a veterinarian.  Reanna is the daughter of Robert and Jennifer Baxter.

Mrs. Amy Teders is currently in her 10th year of teaching English at Liberty-Benton High School.  Previously, she had taught for five years in Mohawk Local Schools.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a major in English at Bowling Green State University.  She earned her Masters of Arts degree in Education from Heidelberg, and she is currently working on her Masters of Arts in English from Ohio University.

Mrs. Teders grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio, and he has been married for fifteen years to Randy.  They have three children: Luke and Isaac in 6th grade at LB, and Madison in 2nd grade, Mrs. Fish’s class at LB.

Mrs. Teders likes being the coach and guide as students take ownership of their learning.  She loves to see “the lightbulb” go off when students get it.  She enjoys being here with her students to help them in any way she can as they trudge their way through high school.

She is looking forward to remaining cancer-free, the day when her children can get along, finishing her master’s degree from OU, summer vacation, and taking the family to Disney during Thanksgiving break.  She enjoys reading, shopping, camping, bowling, and spending time with her family.
