Staff Member of the Month for May

Mrs. Amy Teders is currently in her 11th year of teaching at Liberty-Benton and her 16th year overall. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from Bowling Green State University, a Master’s Degree in Education from Heidelberg, and a Master’s Degree in English from Ohio University.

Mrs. Teders is from Bowling Green, Ohio, and she has been married to her husband, Randy, for 15 years. They have twins, Luke and Isaac, in 7th grade at LB, and Madi, in 3rd grade at LB.

Mrs. Teders enjoys interacting with and getting to know her students. She also enjoys intertwining technology with teaching English.

She is looking forward to finishing her master’s degree this summer and enjoying summer vacation. She enjoys reading, shopping, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

LBHS Staff Member of the Month for May

Mrs. Amy Teders is currently in her 10th year of teaching English at Liberty-Benton High School.  Previously, she had taught for five years in Mohawk Local Schools.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a major in English at Bowling Green State University.  She earned her Masters of Arts degree in Education from Heidelberg, and she is currently working on her Masters of Arts in English from Ohio University.

Mrs. Teders grew up in Bowling Green, Ohio, and he has been married for fifteen years to Randy.  They have three children: Luke and Isaac in 6th grade at LB, and Madison in 2nd grade, Mrs. Fish’s class at LB.

Mrs. Teders likes being the coach and guide as students take ownership of their learning.  She loves to see “the lightbulb” go off when students get it.  She enjoys being here with her students to help them in any way she can as they trudge their way through high school.

She is looking forward to remaining cancer-free, the day when her children can get along, finishing her master’s degree from OU, summer vacation, and taking the family to Disney during Thanksgiving break.  She enjoys reading, shopping, camping, bowling, and spending time with her family.

 

LBHS Staff Member of the Month for March

Mr. Lance Stevens is originally from Upland, California, and he is in his 13th year of teaching art at Liberty-Benton.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Bowling Green State University and his master’s degree in Education for the University of Toledo.

Lance is married to Sara, and they have a son, Major, in Miss Haas’ third grade class here at Liberty-Benton.

Mr. Stevens enjoys seeing his students succeed in school and on after graduation.  He is looking forward to seeing his family our West during the summer, and he enjoys visual art painting, martial arts, weight training, reading, traveling, and family game night including Clue.

LBHS School Staff Member of the Month for February

Mrs. Jill Erickson is in her 25th year of teaching and her 17th year at Liberty-Benton.  She teaches American History and World History, and her previous districts include: Blue Island Community School District #218 in a Chicago suburb, Sulphur Springs Independent School District in Texas, and Irving Independent School District in Dallas, Texas.

Her hometown is Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Comprehensive Social Studies and History from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Findlay.

Jill and her husband, Scott, have two daughters: Alexa (Ali) Erickson and Molly Koehler, and they are both school teachers.

Having taught in three different states, Mrs. Erickson feels that, “By far, the students at Liberty-Benton High School are unique and wonderful!  They make teaching a joy!”

Jill is looking forward to the summer as her family regularly travels to places of historical significance.  This summer, they will be going to Washington, D.C.  Mrs. Erickson’s interests and hobbies include: reading, golfing, biking, fashion and home decorating, college football and basketball, politics, Biblical and ancient history, card-playing, traveling, and the beach!

LBHS School Staff Member of the Month – January

Mr. Ray Wolfe is currently in his fourth year of teaching at Liberty-Benton High School.  He earned his Bachelor’s of Music Degree in Music Education from Ohio University.  He grew up in Findlay, and he has a beagle named Franklin.

He enjoys watching his students progress from grades 6-12, and he enjoys watching his students enjoy making music on stage.  He is looking forward to traveling to New York City with the band and choir in April, and he also plans to do more traveling this summer.  He enjoys golf, music, theatre, and spending time with friends, family, and Franklin.
